Paediatric neurosurgery

Paediatric neurosurgery refers to the diagnosis, treatment and management of conditions that affect the head, spine and central nervous system in children. Paediatric disorders and conditions are quite different from those in adults, as they are often present from birth, or require long-term management.

Treating children with neurological issues can be rather complex as their bodies are still growing. Some children also struggle to express what is bothering them or answer important medical questions. Luckily, Dr Moyeni creates a fun environment for children, that makes them feel relaxed and cooperative.

Dr Moyeni diagnoses, treats and manages children’s head and spine deformities, nervous system problems, and neurosurgical diseases, including the following:

  • Neuro-Craniofacial conditions such as Craniosynostosis and Encephalocoele (birth defects)
  • Traumatic injuries of the brain, spine, or nerves
  • Brain tumours, including Posterior fossa tumour
  • Spinal cord tumours
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Infections of the brain or spine
  • Epilepsy
  • Skeletal dysplasia
  • Vascular abnormalities such as aneurysm and blood vessel abnormalities
  • Stroke - Haemorrhage/bleeding on the brain
  • Spine and Skull Fractures
  • Degenerative diseases
  • Childhood Hydrocephalus: an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the brain

If your child has issues involving the head, spine, or nervous system, and non-surgical treatments have failed to ease symptoms, contact Dr Moyeni. He has the necessary experience, skills and qualifications to treat your child effectively.
